Dear Grizzly Families,

My name is Kristi Castro and I am so excited to be joining the Highland Grove Family as your Principal! 

My journey into education started over 20 years ago and since then I have taught every grade from Kinder to 6th! I've spent over 10 years in the Redlands Unified School District and I feel so lucky to work for a district that focuses on Excellence For All Students. I am a life-long learner and believe the more I learn, the better I can help serve our students.

It is an honor to be at this school and I look forward to partnering with all the students, families, and staff in this wonderful community to help each and every child receive the BEST elementary experience possible. I am here to serve this community and I can't wait to meet all of our wonderful families.  I believe in an open-door policy, so please feel free to stop by and say hi!  Together we can make this a great year.

Hello, Highland Grove Families and Community Members!

I am thrilled to be joining the Highland Grove community as your assistant principal!  I bring over 30 years of educational experience, having been part of the Redlands USD since 1997.  While I have served in a variety of teaching and administrative roles across all levels from elementary to adult education, I am thrilled to now be focused where things all began for me:  at the elementary school level.

My "why,” the reason I show up every day, is rooted in service-minded leadership. I believe in striving to bring joy, stability, clarity, kindness, and educational excellence to every interaction, because I know that the culture we build together will directly impact student success.  And student success is our shared goal--and our shared responsibility.

I am eager to get to know you and your students. So please say hello when you see me during drop-off or pick-up times. I’ll be out there! You are also always welcome to stop by the office to introduce yourself. I look forward to serving you and your children this school year!
